About
The Studio
Zoe Claymore Garden Design is a small but highly regarded landscape design practice, offering a full garden and landscape design service. Based in Teddington, Southwest London, the studio works on design and planting projects across London and Surrey, as well as larger-scale projects across the UK.
We work directly with private clients or with property developers and architects to craft meaningful outdoor places that enhance lives and the environment. We also design show gardens for businesses and charities aligned with our values.
About Zoe
Zoe Claymore is an emerging talent in landscape design, graduating from the Inchbald School of Design with the Dean’s prize for garden design. Less than a year later, she won RHS Gold, People’s Choice, and Best ‘Get Started’ Garden at Hampton Court for her design of 'The Wildlife Trusts: Renters’ Retreat.' Her work for renters earned her recognition as an RHS Horticultural Hero of 2023.
Some of Zoe’s happiest childhood memories are playing in the various gardens of family members. She even demanded to be allowed to design part of her parents’ garden age 10. Clearly a sign of things to come. After going through a difficult time she rediscovered her love for plants in her mid-20s and became a part time volunteer at Ham House gardens. She then shifted to garden design professionally during the pandemic. After qualifying she worked for top designers including Richard Miers, Jo Thompson, and Jonathan Snow before striking out fully on her own. Zoe now runs the studio and contributes to press articles, serves on the editorial board of Garden Design Journal, and is an Ambassador for the National Allotment Society.
Prior to design, Zoe worked as a researcher for NGOs, universities, and the civil service, rising to Senior Evaluation Lead at Ofsted, managing multi-million-pound national research trials. Her career change was featured in the national press due to her project management experience.
